Introduction

The Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana in Ayurveda colleges focuses on the pharmaceutical science of manufacturing, purifying, and processing herbal, mineral, and metal-based medicines. It trains students in classical methods like shodhana (purification) and marana (calcination) to create safe, effective, and standardized Ayurvedic formulations, adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.

Objectives

Departmental Features

  1. Well equipped laboratory containing various instruments, charts, Models, geologically identified specimens.
  2. Well maintained departmental library containing Books, Dissertations & Journals.
  3. Inhouse, GMP Ceritified, FDA approved Pharmacy- Various types of Ayurvedic medicines are prepared in the pharmacy.
  4. Research Laboratory- It is provided with various Modern Analytical Instruments and all research practicals are performed here. The physico-chemical tests of the medicines prepared in our pharmacy are done in the Research laboratory for the purpose of Quality control.
